Club Background
Nailsea Cricket Club was formed in the mid 1850’s as a small village club playing friendly matches against other local clubs. Nailsea first started to play league cricket in the 1970’s and its first success was winning the Somerset Minor Cup in 1973. Since then Nailsea has become one of the most prominent clubs in the Bristol and Somerset area, playing league cricket at a high level. The club now supports four senior teams, an Over 40’s team and Youth teams at under 11, 13, 15 and 17 level. One of the club’s main objectives is to develop continuity between youth and senior cricket, and create a good team spirit at every age group so we can all enjoy the game.

2006 marked the 150th anniversary of cricket in Nailsea and the club celebrated the event with a cricket week or more accurately 5 days of cricket. Starting on Wednesday 12th July we entertained Somerset in a 20 20 match at the Grove. This was followed on the 13th with an all day game against the XL club (hosted by the over 40s). Friday evening was a youth event and then after a home league match for the 1st Xl against Hampset we had a Presidents game on the Sunday.

The club always welcomes new players of any age or standard and in particular would welcome approaches from an overseas player looking to spend a summer playing cricket in England. Please follow the contact  link (click here contact) if you wish to contact the club.
